S60 WordPress Blogging Client - N95 for WordPress

Wavelog has been developed and tested on Nokia N95 mobile phones posting to the WordPress publishing system, both hosted on the wordpress.com and the current stable release available from wordpress.org and hosted with different hosting providers.

About the App... It allows posting of the content as text, image, audio or video, to a Web log (blog) directly from the mobile phone using any type of available network (mobile phone or Wi-Fi network). The application allows saving the work for later posting in the case there is no available network or to allow selection of a network with larger up-link bandwidth (faster posting) or lower cost (for example a free Wi-Fi HotSpot compared to a mobile phone network). Wavelog does not restrict users to a specific blog hosting provider, social network or an intermediate content aggregation. It permits a complete freedom for choosing blog hosting provider or even installing own blog publishing system on the Internet, extranet, intranet, or a local area network. It is designed for performance, scalability and reliability, so it is coded in C++ programming language as a native Symbian OS application. Wavelog does not use any form of usage tracking for targeted advertisement or direct marketing purposes. See http://www.telewaving.com/wp/

Sony TransferJet high speed, wireless transfer of large data files

Sony recently announced "TransferJet", a new Close Proximity Wireless Transfer Technology enabling the high speed transfer of large data files (photos, HD images, etc.) between electronic devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras, digital video cameras, computers and TVs. Using this technology, data can be sent at speeds of 560Mbps. Sony presented this newly developed technology at CES International in Las Vegas. About it... TransferJet is an extremely simple wireless technology which eliminates the need for complex setup and operation. For example, just touching a TV with a digital camera enables photos to be instantaneously displayed on the TV screen. Alternatively, downloaded music content can be easily enjoyed by touching a mobile phone to a portable audio player. TransferJet can be used as a Universal Interface among a wide variety of consumer electronics devices.

PC malware affecting mobile phones

This from McAfee blogs regarding this latest malware... Occasionally we find PC malware that can have an effect on mobile phones or vice versa. The W32/Mobler worm installs SymbOS/MultiDropper.CC to any Windows system it infects. The Symbian malware has no effect on the PC. Similarly SymbOS/Multidropper.CC installs W32/Mobler to the memory card. The mobile version is arguably more effective as inserting a memory card with Mobler into a PC with AutoRun configured is enough to cause an infection.
